Me vs. Chronic Sinusitus

The surgery was quite interesting. Tim and I felt like we were in an episode of Scrubs or ER from the moment we arrived at the hospital. (I'll spare you the details.)
Everything went well, except for the amount of nausea that came afterwards. Lots of sleeping, lots of pain pills, water to keep the old smacker wet and one very sad, pathetic story about Britney Spears. Oh, and after reading the large section in People dedicated to Hottest Bachelors, ladies, we got lucky.
About the reading on PRI, it didn't happen. Recognized, but not aired. Oh well, at least I'm in good company. finslippy didn't get read either, and she rocks.
"Left a lot of great stuff on the cutting room floor. If you didn’t hear your blog post, we apologize; we ran out of time at the end of the hour. If it makes you feel any better, we had to cut off the producer credits at the end, too, so we didn’t hear our names, either."
Once again I've missed another shot at fame and fortune. I guess I'll just go finish reading my People.

Angela,
You kill me. How do you still look so beautiful even with a whole pack of gauze on your face?
Love,
Suzanne
Hope you're feeling better! Thinking of you! Gia
Would I be correct in assuming you had sinus surgery? I had it done in '98. The worst part for me was the ginormous splints inside my nostrils. Otherwise, an easy recovery. Good luck :)
I left a message on Tim's phone on Friday wondering how everything went... glad to see that you are recovering well! Hope to see you soon!
suzanne and ames- thanks, but you need glasses! : )
gia- i want to see you soon. i miss you.
izzy- yes, sinus surgery and a deviated septum corrected. i hate these splints! they are so uncomfortable. my question to you is: did your surgery clear everything up? how do you feel now? can you breath and smell?
jen-thanks for the call. i wish we could have come to the party. i saw brian's pictures. looks like you had a great time. talk to you soon.
I hope you feel better. Let's compare our shit! I've got hydrocodine. What do you have? My pain's more skeletal, but I highly recommend my shit. I liken it to the scene in Willy Wonka where Charlie drinks the soda and floats with grandpa up to the ceiling with the fan blades.
Greg
Awww shit! Isn't hydrocodine sweeet?! I'm ready to go totally "Rush Limbaugh" on this stuff! It's marked "no refills" though... those bastards.
My bottle said that it does induse drowsiness. Interestingly, I've been itching, too. I guess it's the price you pay for licking the clouds of heaven!
My shoulder's much better, thanks. I've ditched the sling... can almost do a decent comb-over again. =) I hope your recovery is as quick as mine.
beck- saw gar-o this morning. smoking a cigar. he looked like the happiest man on earth!
mean mr. mustard- recovery going well. i'm going it alone tomorrow. stitching and packing come out thurs. whoo hoo!
rach- email me and i'll help you set it up. (i don't know much...but i'll help you all i can)
Angela...to answer your question, I had no problems or sinus infections etc for a really long time (7+ years) but during my last pregnancy, my nose was always stuffy and I got several sinus infections. I've not been the same since and now I have congestion headaches etc all the time and I have to flush my sinuses with saline regularly (TMI? sorry!). I'm going to see an ENT eventually and see what the deal is.

sorry you didn't make the final cut. it happens in the print media biz all the time as well. at least the blog is getting noticed and maybe next time they need a well written funny anecdote they will venture back your way. much love to you and your packed sinus cavities.

izzy- not too much info. that's just what i wanted to hear. i feel a lot better now that the stints are out. i'm just worried that it's going to come back. have you tried the sinus pot? that thing is awesome. i'll fill you in if you have no idea what i'm talking about.
brooks-thanks. it was a bummer. i stayed up all night to hear it. i knew i jumped the gun in posting about it.... but i was so damn excited!!
alice- i'm so in. we should find everyone that got left out and do our own podcast! how's that for an idea?
No prob Ali. I think I remember a time recently when I didn't get to wish YOU a speedy recovery until much much too late. : )
